I am trying to change the key command for setting note durations in Dorico. When I assign a new key on Windows (the same process works correctly on Mac), I receive the message:
“This key sequence is already assigned to: Note Input > Do you want to remove it from that command and assign it to Note Input?”
I clicked OK, but the key command does not change or take effect. What should I do?

After clicking OK, you still have to click Apply in the Preferences window (bottom right corner). That window tends to disappear to the background after clicking OK on the warning message, which confused me as well in the beginning. It would make a lot more sense if it stayed in the foreground.
