Recently (within the past couple of weeks) I started having a problem with “Transcribe!” (music playback software) where it would lock up when closing. Yesterday I discovered that Dorico 6 is having the same issue. When I unplugged my M-Audio 1x1 MIDI interface, things worked again. Apparently it’s a known (and recent) problem:

Do you have the Win RT MIDI option enabled? You can find it in the Dorico Preferences under the Play tab, just scroll down all the way and unfold the Advanced Options.
Win RT is not enabled on my computer. (My MIDI device is USB attached)
I applied the workaround mentioned in the article and the problem was resolved. They said on their Discord that the permanent fix will roll out in the late April Windows update.
