For whatever reason Dorico isn’t creating backup files of any of my projects. Also, in Preferences, Dorico is directing the location for backup files to Dorico Pro 5. I’m not even using Dorico Pro 5, I’m using Dorico Pro 6. What do I do in this situation? Thanks for the help.
Does changing the location in those preferences helps?

So, if you change the location, hit apply, and come back to the preferences, it still points to Dorico 5?
I’m sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you meant when I changed the location to tell Dorico where to save backup files, I thought you were asking if it was creating backup files. My mistake about that! Dorico points to the new location, but still does not create a backup file.
Just to be sure: you know a backup file only is created when saving your file? And it’s in a subfolder (project name)

I’d check the permissions on that folder (in the OS) to see Dorico have the rights to create directories and write files.
Other than that, I have no clue.
You could save a file, and create a dyagnostic report and attach that here. Don’t know if it contains enough info to solve your problem though.

That’s probably a bit extreme, but better safe than sorry, ha!
And one other thing (grasping at more straws), you know that the autosave feature is different from the “normal” backup, right? 
Can you show a screenshot of your preferences?
From what I understand about it is this; whenever the user saves their project (whether that either be the keyboard shortcut or going to File > Save) a backup file should appear in the correct directory the user has told Dorico where to save a backup file.
I’m assuming that you’re on a Mac (because of the forward slashes) – in which case, I’m not sure that "Program Files/Steinberg/Dorico 6/ is a standard path. Is this inside your user account’s Document’s folder, or somewhere else?
First thing to do is try changing the path to a simpler folder inside your ~/Documents folder.

OK. Is the filepath a standard location where you might save your documents?
Try setting it to another “standard” location, as a test.
I created a new folder, because for some reason in the Dorico 6 folder it didn’t have one, called “Backup Projects” and went from there. So, technically this is a “standard” location.
Dorico was sending the backup files elsewhere. I did find where Dorico was sending them, but the folder was empty (which is very odd in my opinion).
