Dorico Performance on OSX (M1 processor)

Hello Dorico team,
I optimize code for a living. A family member, who is a composer, noticed performance and stability problems when running Dorico on a MacBook M1. I ran the Xcode profiler and saw that the Dorico app is spending a tremendous amount of time doing Qt UI/object operations for everything happening within the app. I would be happy if you would allow me to help you improve the performance of Dorico.

That is very surprising to me; I worked for two years on an m1 Mac mini and it was solid as a rock. I can count on one hand the number of times dorico crashes or becomes unstable for me. Usually only once or twice per year. I’ve spent the last year on a different machine with an m1max chip that is also rock solid.

Welcome to the forum, @larryb

I’ve also used Dorico on M1 Macs since 2021 with very few problems.

No doubt someone from the team will be along to comment.
