After another day of crashing every time I click on anything in the Dorico application (I must have sent over 30 crash dumps so far), Dorico will now not even initialize. During the splash screen, the app crashes during:
“Loading Playback Template Generator: Silence”
I tried reinstalling the app. No luck.
Windows 11.
Couldn’t find any similar issues. Not sure if this is related to the most recent update.

Unfortunately the diagnostics you’ve attached don’t contain any crash dumps, so I’m unable to look at them, but I am reasonably sure that the problem you are experiencing is related to the crash also reported by other users in projects with trills. We are working on a fix for this as I type this message, and should have it available very soon, either today or tomorrow. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused.
We’ve this afternoon released a hot fix, version 5.1.21, that addresses the crashes you have been experiencing. Please download and install this update via Steinberg Download Assistant.
Don’t worry about it, I understand that the road of software development can be bumpy. Though, perhaps you should commission me as some sort of version tester, as it seems every time I open Dorico I come up with a new way to break it : )
Manually uninstalling through Windows and then redownloading and reinstalling through Stein. Download Manager did get the app working again. I have installed the hotfix, hope it fixes the issue. Thanks for your attention, Daniel.
