I’m having a weird issue where Dorico is playing back at the wrong pitch – something akin to baroque pitch for instance… I’ve tried restarting the computer… I’ve tried fiddling with the sample rate in Audio-Midi Setup on my Mac but that didn’t help - any other thoughts? thank you!
It must be sample rate. What is it set to?

No need to remove it; that’s what the forum is for!
For anyone coming here for the same problem, you can adjust the sample rate by selecting the Dorico menu, then Preferences, then select play in the categories on the right. Scroll to the bottom of the window on the left hen click “Audio Device Setup”. You’ll see sample rate there. Good luck!
@VJT and all others, you can more easily get to that dialog if you choose Edit > Device Setup.

The essential point is that the sample rates must be the same in Dorico and in your audio device – and in your VST, if it has such as control.
I just experienced this on my Mac. Was watching a tutorial and tinkering at the same time. Dorico was set to 48K and sounded pitched down. Per the above, that makes sense.
Here’s the kicker: But when I opened device setup, the (internal) audio device was also set to 48K. So they seemed to be in sync.
I changed to 44.1K and I checked and the device automatically changed, too.
I guess my question here is why would Dorico sound pitched down at 48K, when seemingly the device is set to the same? Am I missing a setting I need to change? Per the above it sounds like two separate settings, but in neither case did my settings seem out of sync.

As you say, they only seemed to be in sync, but sometimes Dorico does not reflect properly the current setting, That’s when it plays out of tune and that’s why changing the sample rate triggers an update and both Dorico and the underlying device get in sync again.
