Dorico pro 6.0.20 - video wrong 20s

Just updated 6.0.10 > 6.0.20 and am unable to work.
The video that played yesterday in sync with my file is now 20 seconds ahead.
In all flows.

Got a bit agitated, sorry, deadlines are still there and I need to get further.

Detach, reattach, change starting position. Video still wrong. 20 s.
How to get the older version of D. back ASAP?
At the moment there is no time for this.

I’ll send you Dorico 6.0.10. Bear with me.

Thanks, may THE BEAR be with you!

Reverting to 6.0.10 solved the issue for now.
I will upload the video for dev. team to see what is wrong and why.
Frustration is over for now, luckily Steinberg’s support differs from MM in a good way.

@dspreadbury , I assume that my video file was also 20 s. wrong at your end.

I for now I do have ver .10 installer for as plan B but I can also have 20 s. of blank video added to the beginning of the file with ffmpeg and work with .20 version.

For now I keep away from latest update.

Same problem here.
I have Version 6.0.22.6052 (Jul 9 2025).
When closing and re-opening my projects, my video is always a couple of bars ahead.
When I detach and attach it again, it’s fine.
But de- and attaching it every time I re-open the project is a bit annoying.
I chose different formats (mov, mp4), different frame-rates…always the same problem.

Please read this thread:

Long story short:
*** there is a problem, Read another thread I referred.

Solutions:

  1. Use 6.0.10 that has a bug with flow pre-roll and works in sync UNTIL you open Playback Options.
  2. Use 6.0.22 and set flow Pre-roll to zero
  3. TXL timecode plugin, sync video with another app + adjust offset 20s minus 1 frame
  4. add 20s blank to your video with ffmpeg. Tried that but there are other issues with Dorico and video. This is a buggy area.

I ended up purchasing TXL Timecode plugin and moving video to my sequencer app (Digital Performer). Works like a charm. The downside is: I have multiple flows, the movie is 1 hr 42 mins- I think there will be around 50. To have video running continuously, one has to insert “gap flows” with carefully calculated and tested durations. It is possible and actually easy, once you know the trick.

wow..thanx so much for your explanations !!
Can you tell me how I do that please? I have no idea, how ‘to set flow Pre-Roll to zero’ :grimacing:

—> or your very first solution: to insert some extra seconds at the start of the video maybe (or gap flows, how you described it)

…ohhh…now I get it…set flow pre-roll to zero…PERFECT…that made it for me…I had set it on 1 second…I set it back to 0 and all works fine.
WOW. Thank you so much !!!

Because I have a long movie and I need to see a bit back to time the next entry- I had to move video out of Dorico and purchase TXL timecode plugin. Pre-roll is 3s here and it is necessary.
