Dorico Pro 6.2 slow to start - show hub

I’ve noticed that my copy of Dorico Pro 6.2 is currently slow to start. It’s not because I have a large number of plugins (which I understand), but it seems to be slow to show the hub in the last stage of the start-up roll.

I followed the guidelines I’ve discovered elsewhere on this forum and created the diagnostic zip file, which I’ll attach. I can see that it’s taking about ~20 seconds at the last stage of the application log to start up the hub.

Is there any reason for this? Is there anything I can look at to improve?

Thanks for the help.

I wonder whether it might be related to Dorico trying to load the images for the recent projects in the Open Recent page of the Hub? Are any of your recent projects located on network-attached drives or similar? It doesn’t look like it from the recent files list in your diagnostics, but do you have your user folder aliased to a network location?

Thanks for the reply Daniel.

My main Dorico Projects folder is ~/Documents/Dorico Projects - which is an iCloud drive (under Documents - which helps with syncing projects between different Macs - and occasionally Dorico on the iPad).

When you say “images” do you mean the preview images that I have generated for most of the projects?

Thanks again (and thanks for this wonderful program - which has undoubtedly changed my life for the better!)

This I think probably explains it. Dorico probably has to request that each project is downloaded via iCloud in order to show the thumbnail image that appears in the grid view in the Hub. At the moment, the Hub window won’t appear until all of the images have been loaded.

If you use the list view rather rather than the grid view in the Hub, you should find it opens more quickly.

It does. That made a big difference. Thanks for the advice.
