I purchased the latest Dorico Pro 6 (upgrade) and as far as I can tell, it downloaded successfully. I also received the verification code in an e-mail.
However, I cannot activate my Steinberg Download Assistant. I tried installing a current version, and I still get the “Connection to the download server could not be established” error message.
Can someone please direct me to where I can get this problem solved?
Thanks for your suggestion. After many tries, I finally have a Download Assistant.
But now it is telling me that my verification code is invalid. After less than 3 hours? Do I need a new one sent to me? If so, how do I request a new activation code?
No, the activation code is tied to your purchase and is not time limited.
I believe activation codes are all 5 groups of 5 characters, like K7MX2-9PQNR-4WYJL-HC6ST-VB3NF (not a real activation code). Make sure you’ve copied the whole thing from the email it came in when you paste it into the download assistant.
Thanks again. Sorry about all this. I’ve been wrestling with this download for 3 hours now. I copied the wrong code this time. My fault.
It still won’t let me get into Dorico 6, It tells me that there is some other sort of problem.
I hate to say this, but I have never had an uneventful download with my Dorico purchases. Something always glitches in it that I have to find some tech support for help. Sorry.
Thank you, Janus, for your time. I don’t mean to sound obtuse with this; but when the installation started, it just suddenly stopped and informed me that it couldn’t proceed because it encountered “a problem.”
Now, after 5 times of trying to install Dorico Pro 6, the process actually worked and did what it was supposed to do several hours ago.
So, for now, things are what they should be. And thank you both for your willingness to help me with this.
