Dorico Pro 6 Proof Reading Flutter Tonguing

Is there a reason Dorico Pro 6.2 thinks that for Trumpet and Horn “flutter tongue technique is not usually associated with this instrument”? Is there a way I can turn off this particular warning as it relates to these instruments without turning off proof reading of other playing techniques?

Thanks.

Hmm, I don’t get those warnings. Can you upload your project, or a cut-down version of it that demonstrates the issue?

Here’s the file. I just started doing the proofing this morning after downloading 6.2, so I don’t know if this shows up on 6.1 or earlier.

Interesting. It looks like that’s a playing technique that you defined yourself – the factory flutter tongue technique, which displays as f.t., doesn’t have that issue.

If you move your custom technique from the Wind category to the Common category, then the proofreading warning goes away. (If you move it to the Brass category, you’ll get warnings about its application to wind instruments elsewhere in the score.) I’m not sure why the factory technique doesn’t need this, but I suspect there may be a hardcoded reference to it.

Alternatively, you could edit the factory technique so that it displays as flutter tongue instead of f.t., and then apply that one instead.

Thanks. That is weird that a literal spelling of a wind/brass technique would cause an issue like that, but your solution(s) works fine. And I thought I was being clever by putting it in the “correct” category. Thanks again!
