Hi, I did a score to picture in dorico, when trying to exporting and put it back to sync in logic, the audio went out of sync with the video.
I don’t think it was because of logic though. Because when I mute all my instrument tracks in dorico play mode, and export audio from dorico, (that is, only the original sound from the mov,) the exported audio syncs perfectly in logic. But as soon as I add in my music written in dorico, it is delayed.
I was using video start time offset in dorico, no smpte offset. For both audio exported from dorico (with or without my music and original sound from film), I put them starting at the same point in logic as my offset in dorico. Any help would be much appreaciated!
I was using note performer 5.
Additionally I would love to see the feature that allow us to export video with audio directly from dorico so we don’t have to export audio then re sync with video in another software.
I run into the same issues and believe it has to do with the Noteperformer delay associated with the algorithms look ahead function.
Hi Patt thank you very much for letting me know I am not alone!
And that sounds very logical! Perhaps this is a very niche workflow, since I am indeed writing very unconventional experimental film score, so they haven’t optimized for it yet? But it is also slightly surprising that look ahead during export is not considered when integrating Noteperformer into Dorico.
I would love to hear Dorico’s response here and if that is really the case hope this can be improved soon!
I just realized even if I play the original film that I imported into dorico, along with noteperformer, the sound effect and dialogue form the original would also be delayed… That is … I couldn’t find excuse for this anymore
Have you tried this with something other than NotePerformer? The delay with NP is well known and has been discussed on this forum before.
