Dorico splash screen is gray - is it just me?

So, this might sound weird but I was wondering if the Dorico splash screen (on Windows) is actually meant to be gray. I’m trying to figure out if this is a bug on my system or intentionally so, because it looks particularly bland and uninspiring.

Obviously this is a minor issue and has zero to do with the software’s functionality, but Nuendo, Wavelab and SpectraLayers all have decorated splash screens, while Dorico (and Cubase) show up flat-gray—at least on my system. Also, Dorico’s splash screen is considerably larger than all other Steinberg ones.

Thoughts?

No one can even confirm this for me—just for the sake of my own sanity? Just let me know if it’s actually gray

It’s slightly gray I guess.

If you hold down a modifier like Opt/Alt while starting, Dorico can start as a different version, in which case the splash screen is much larger and lighter gray in color:

Thanks, I appreciate it. And I didn’t know about the alt+click thing so thank you for that info as well!

I realize it’s a pet peeve but it still seems extremely weird to me that this is a deliberate choice…

In Cubase it’s possible to change the splash screen by overwriting a particular file with your own image. I can’t remember where exactly the file is, but with a bit of digging you might this works in Dorico too.
