I’ve been using Dorico successfully on my iPad Pro for quite some time now. When I tried to launch the app yesterday, a black screen appeared and it closed immediately. When I check the running apps, Dorico is listed, but with a black screen. When I try to open the app, it closes again. I’ve already rebooted the iPad and reinstalled the app from the App Store, but without success.
Any idea what might be causing this and how I can fix the problem?
My iPadOS version is 16.7.15

After the release of version 6.2.1 I thought, it might be a good idea to try reinstall again. So I did and this time there was a hint that the new version requires iOS 17 and if I want to install an older version, which is compatible to my older iOS 16. Yes, I said, and now Dorico again is working on my iPad. Hurray!
Question: It seems that Dorico has been updated silently on my iPad after arrival of version 6.2. Is there a chance to prevent that silent update?
The problem was caused by a misconfiguration in the Dorico for iPad app itself for version 6.2: it incorrectly said that it could run on iOS 16, which it cannot. It requires iOS 17 or later. The new version 6.2.10 says that it requires iOS 17, and version 6.2 is no longer available: you should find that you are offered version 6.1.10 for iOS 16.
Obviously we recommend that you update beyond iOS 16 if you can: there are some important fixes and improvements in Dorico for iPad 6.2.10 for (most critically) working with projects in iCloud Drive, and also improving the performance of the on-screen Keyboard.

Thanks, Daniel, for this carification. You are right, I have Dorico Version 6.1 on my iPad. I’m not sure whether my first generation iPad Pro allows for iOS 17 but I will give it a try.
