Dorico startup window won't show

Help please. When I star Dorico it won’t show the startup window, the program is running, and I can tell because I can right-clik the app ikon and see the resent files and I’m able to open and use the files; but the startup window won’t show as normal at startup or when closing a file. Thank you.

Emil, please have a look into Preferences.
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows).
There are Options for this.

Thank you for your answer. I’m not sure to which preferences you refer. I attach a picture of Dorico’s preferences-windows. Unfortunately, I don’t think that there is anything here to fix it.

Also, I can only tell that the program is working because of the windows taskbar. It seems like something is preventing the startup (or hub) window to appear.

The little hub window appears when I place the mouse over the app’s ikon in the taskbar.

So just to confirm: Dorico is running, you can see the Dorico icon in the taskbar, but when you click on the icon (or right-click and choose Dorico), the hub doesn’t display? How did you get to the preferences screen?

I can open files by right-cliking the app ikon.

But what happens when you right-click and choose “Dorico”? Or when you just click on the icon?

If I click Dorico, nothing happens, if I click Dorico’s small ikon inside that menu nothing, and if I right click the small ikon in the menu, I get this:

I could not find anything in the “Propeties” window that could help. I am running the app as an administrator.

The task manager shows the app normally.
Another strange fact is that my Cubase opens normally, with its hub window.

It sounds to me like the hub has gotten moved offscreen. Do you maybe have a second monitor that you were using at some point?

I think you can reset the hub window position by closing Dorico and then deleting the registry key at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Steinberg-Dorico5\dialogGeometry\Dorico\Hub\HubMain.qml. But I wouldn’t try this unless it’s confirmed by someone else (@dspreadbury ? ). And if that’s all Greek to you, then I can provide a file that will help you.

Thank you for all your time! Your comment gave me an idea and it worked. You were right, the window was lost in an unreachable space, so I reconfigured my monitor connection from zero, restarted the computer and all works fine now.
