Dorico VST sounds not working!

I have been using Dorico for over a year now, originally, I bought Dorico 5, the sounds all worked perfectly, then suddenly they went away. Now, I upgraded to Dorico 6, thinking the fresh start would also reintroduce sounds, but still no luck!

I have tried resetting sound cache and all of the options online, nothing works.

Hi!

Try and open Steinberg Library Manager (that is an App you should find in your apps folder) and see if all the sounds are there. Chances are the app will display red messages to alert you on some files not located or missing…

If you know where those files are in your machine, double-clicking them should solve the problem in Steinberg Library Manager.

Hope it helps!

Welcome to the forum @berkley_murphy ,

if Marc’s advice does not help, please do the following:

  • Open a new project from piano template and enter a few notes
  • Choose from Dorico’s main menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report
  • The corresponding zip file send to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de

From the contained logs and other files I shall be able to give further advice.
Thanks!

I’m going to send it here since I cannot find where to send it.

Thanks for the data, but it all looks pretty normal to me, except the fact that you run the ASIO driver at 88.2 kHz Sample Rate. When you press the Play button, does the green cursor line in Dorico actually advance?
Go to Edit > Device Setup and set the sample rate to 48 or 44.1 kHz, do you then get sound out? And check that sound will come out on “Headphones (onn. Rugged Spea 1/2”.
Any better?

The green line has always moved, but I tried what you asked and still nothing.

created another diagnostic report

That’s all strange…
What if you switch on the metronome and start the playback, can you hear that?
Also open the mixer panel (F3, I think), does the main output channel (the red one) show any level metering?
