Hi everybody,
I faced the problem mentioned above…
First I thought that my keyboard is out of order. (Dexibell Vivo).
So I changed the Usb-cable in one I could trust - same result…
Then I changed the keyboard to a Yamaha P-125-same result…
Then I had a look at the forum and after reading Ulf’s advice to have a look at the power button left to the bar/time and after activating twice, everything was ok.
So:
it would be v e r y helpful to have an annoucement, that the project is not activated!!!
I nearly decided to throw away my Dexibell Vivo…(1700 €)

Hi @Piano_Vink , if I understand your request, well I think that the blue color of the Activated project (vs. the grey color of the not activated project) is a very clear visual announcement. (sorry if I misunderstood your request):
Activated project:
not Activated project:
Another way to check if Dorico is receiving MIDI input is the little green dot down the bottom-right of the window. This is the MIDI activity indicator:
(Number 11)
Does it blink green when you press notes or move any CC controllers?
Hi Christian, you are right. But in my case the button was blue. As I said before, I deactivated and activated the project twice and then everything was ok. There must have happened something strange…
Yours
Peter
Hi Daniel, I can’t find this dot. There is nothing in my case. Do I have to activate it?
The dot is just Dorico recognising that there is MIDI activity. If there is no dot appearing when you press a note, it means the MIDI signal from your controller isn’t getting through.
Sorry if this is too obvious, but have you checked that your keyboard is selected in Preferences>Play>MIDI input devices?
No, there is not dot blinking. I play my Dexibell via USB into a powered hub. I started the project again and the problem remains. Then I deactvated and activated the project (power button) and can now input via keyboard. (the same issue occurs when playing the Yamaha P-125) What’s wrong?
