I am writing drumline music and Dorico is simplifying my dotted phrase even though I think I have specified I want it to only use dotted notes vs tie chains in the notation options. The screen shot is attached. I want this to be 4 dotted 16th’s and to not include any ties. I’m stuck on this and any help is appreciated!
I’m not sure there is a setting for this ‘pattern’, but I marked the 1st 16. note and pressed “o” (Forced duration) and then “r” and in Repeat. If you have many bars, this may not be the best solution.

Forced duration did it! Thank you very much everyone. Does anyone have a quick way I can break the beam just before the dotted notes? I’m digging but my dorico chops are rusty
