Dotted notes vs. slurs

Hello,

As far as I can see, there is no possibility in Dorico to make a setting to display only 8th, 16th and 32nd notes dotted and all other note values (quarter, half, whole) with slurs. For me, the reason for this display is that it is easier to see where the downbeat is than with these note values when they are displayed dotted. So I would like to ask if there is a possibility to implement such a setting that only displays 32nds, 16ths and 8ths dotted and larger note values with slurs.

Are you talking about slurs? I feel you mean ties.
In any case, investigate force duration (letter o). You can achieve anything you want with this tool. It might probably not be automatic, because the rules about what should be visible or not has more to do with showing the half of a bar, or beats, than with the length of the notes themselves, and this is all ruled by the Notation options (cmd-shift-n).

Sorry for the confusion. You’re right, I meant ties. And thanks for your hint!
