Double barlines connect?

Is there a way to connect double barlines only to the marked sections?

Edit: see the suggestion by @charles_piano here:

I leave my previous workaround, that maybe can be useful for other cases, as this, for example, where the OP doesn't want brackets on the vocal staff

Hi @k.k, in Notation Options>Barlines you can set all the end system barlines to join all staves (but is probably not what you want):

If you want the join only in that specific place you can use a workaround:

create a new vertical barline, with a new body, made by a double line with appropriate settings:

Then create a Coordination Line at the barline previous to the double barline (selecting both barlines of S and A) and clicking Coordination Line in Engrave mode, and assign to it the newly created “double” line as Line Style in the properties panel. Position the line as needed:

Result:

Dorico file example:

coordination line as join.dorico (1.4 MB)

Thanks.

Does the bar line connect as set in the group?

Sorry I don’t understand your question.

Is there a way to connect the barlines by dividing them as indicated?

When I select the bar before the double barline, does that move the line? Selecting the double barline creates a connecting line to the next bar.

Hi @k.k, (please don’t ask the same question in new threads.)

Continuing the explanation for you particular case (you don’t want brackets for the vocal staves), if you read carefully my suggestions above, you will want to select first the barline before the double barline, and add there the Coordination line that you can then customise and position as I explained above:

The last sentence means: in Engrave mode, drag the Coordination line at the desired position: between the double barlines in the next bar.

Yes, as @charles_piano suggests here.

And here an example of the realisation:

join vocal staves end of system.dorico (1.4 MB)

If you don’t want brackets for the vocal staves, then follow my workaround above.
