Double click to open project in Steinberg Hub

I have Dorico 6 installed on a Windows 11 desktop PC. From the Steinberg Hub I have to double click mouse on a project to open it. I also have Dorico 6 installed on a laptop PC running Windows 11. From the Hub I only have to single click mouse on a project to open it. Does anyone have an idea why the behaviour is different on the two devices. I could not find any setting that controlled the single or double mouse click

I’ve noted this before, no idea why it happens. I much prefer the double-click, FWIW – since it takes several seconds for the Hub to appear after closing the last project file, I find that I often start to click on something else on my desktop, only to have the Hub appear, intercept the single click, and open a project file.

If I remember correctly, there should be a setting in Windows that controls mouse (and touchpad) behavior which includes that option. (Unfortunately, I’m away from my PC at the moment.

There is a setting which controls single vs. double-click in Explorer – is that what you’re thinking of? I have it set to double-click on my desktop and laptop, but the Hub still opens projects on my laptop with a single click.

In my Explorer both devices are set to "double-clixk to open an item, so that is not the problem although I’m not sure that Explorer settings would migrate through to Dorico.

Thanks Aaron! I had to go look it up. It’s not where I expected it!

On Win 11, hit Start and type File Folder Options. Under the “General” Tab it is in the second group of options.

Alternatively, in File Explorer you can select the “…” menu and then select “Options.”

Jim, if you mean the “Window” menu in Dorico I can’t see such an option. If you are referring to Windows OS I wouldn’t know where to start other than Explorer which is set at double-click on both devices.

No joy. Changed to the single click but no impact in the Dorico Hub. That setting I think only applies to Windows File Explorer but is not universally applied to installed software

…the “Start” menu in windows (with the windows icon.

Oddly, I just changed mine to single-click, rebooted and gave it a try. I still need to double-click in the Hub to open a file! I don’t know why you get two different scenarios!

(Gotta step out for a few hours.)
