DOUBLE CLICKING not working to Edit lyrics, tempo markers, system texts, & Sign Posts

Hello all, September 26, 2026 today … I use Dorico 6.2.3 on an M3 MacBook Air (Sequoia), an M1 Mac Studio (Sequoia), an M1 MacBook Air (Tahoe) and/or an M4 MacMini (Tahoe) and double clicking to edit lyrics, tempo markers, system texts, and Sign Posts has stopped working.

Their respective pop ups/editors used to come up, now they rarely work at all.

Has anyone else been experiencing this? With Sign Post and System Track placements cover things (see my screenshot below), obviously you can’t double click things as there too many things cluttered … What I am describing is NOT that … The Double Clicking failure is happening with stand alone tempo markers, & system texts.

TEMPO MARKINGS: SOMETIMES clicking/selecting the Tempo Marking and clicking Shift + T, works, but not all of the time! Sometimes I need to delete the Tempo Marking and add a new one.

SYSTEM TEXTS: There is NO OTHER WAY to edit System Texts other than to 1) Double Click it and edit it, or erase and re-do it … Double Clicking has stopped working.

LYRICS: Clicking/selecting + Shift + T does always work, but, double clicking rarely works.

Any one else experiencing this?

I’m aware I’m not technically answering your question, but did you know that pressing Enter on a selected item also lets you edit it? So you can ShiftAlt/Opt-click to cycle the selection between overlapping items and not worry about double-clicking.

Do you mean Shift-L?

How old is your mouse?
Could anything have changed the setting for double-clicking timing in your OS?

I have no problems double-clicking to bring up popovers, so I wonder if a setting or something mechanical in the mouse could cause it.

Yes, I meant Shift + L lyrics … Shift + T for Tempi … Shift + N for notes (NOT Cmd+N, which creates a new project and messes up your concentration…) … where was I … Shift + B to add baaaaaaaars … Shift + K for Keys … Shift + … yes … me know many Keyboard shortcuts.

Shift + Opt (Mac) is not working either on my Mac (Sequoia, M3 MacBook Air, 2TB/24GB) … Many have stopped working and I just have to delete the old Tempo/Lyric/Text etc and re-do the Shortcut, … Double Clicking is rarely working either.

At my studio, I have an M1 MacStudio (Sequoia), M4 MacMini & M1 MacBook (both on Tahoe) to see if its a OS thing or just an M3 MacBook Air issue.

I am currently home bound and have only been working on my Sequoia, M3 MacBook Air, so I am not using a mouse.

At my studio, I have an M1 MacStudio (Sequoia) & M4 MacMini (Tahoe), but with mouses … mice!!! … both have a mouse that is used for the computer (that sound better!).

I’ll report back.
