Double dotted notes question

Hi, I’m a bit unsure what to do here - I checked Gould’s book and couldn’t find anything on double dotted notes, I’m sure there are uses for it and maybe what my score defaulted to is preferable to a dotted quarter tied to a 16th note, but I was wondering if anybody has any opinions on this. Out of curiosity, is there a way to make Dorico default to not use double augmentation dots?
Thanks,
Jonny

Yes, there are options in Notation Options > Note Grouping > Rhythm Dots.

I would say if you allow a dotted eighth rest, there’s nothing wrong with a double-dotted quarter. This passage looks fine to me as is. Of course you can always make exceptions if you want to force duration.
