Double tap dots are broken

Double-tap for dotted note values is not working properly.

If I double-tap 6, I get a half note. I can play any number of MIDI keys and get the same half note. If I double-tap 6 again, it dots the note AFTER the cursor (i.e., the half note I just entered) and then every subsequent MIDI keyboard note. Thus, I am obliged to use the period to enter one dotted half. The same holds true of the other number keys.

I have tried exiting Dorico, starting a new document, and restarting the computer. Nothing seems to help. This is distressing, because double-tap was the main reason I bought v. 5 I hadn’t changed anything before it broke, and it doesn’t seem to be a thing you can turn off anyway. I’ve attached a sample project.

Have you checked Preferences>Note Input? I have a feeling it’s nothing to do with the project, and is instead a setting in Preferences.

Duh! That did it! It was the one thing I changed, and my pea brain had somehow read “rhythm dot” as “staccato dot”, both when I did it and when I checked it. I knew it has to have been something stupid I did. Thank you!
