Doubled (two-handed) note-heads in Dorico 6

I have a standard, basic drumset kit in a brass band score in Dorico 6. I need to create two-handed (LH and RH) simultaneous stokes on my Toms – not flams/ruffs, etc., so I’ll need a double noteheads, one on either side of the note-stem. I apologize for the very basic question, but how do I do about doing this in Dorico 6? Google/Manual/Forum search yields double-stem/double-whole-note responses, but nothing matching my inquiry. Thank you in advance, Scott.

One way to do it is to write a “chord” and then reposition one of the noteheads.

In note entry, activate chord mode (with the button in the left toolstrip, or with Q) and enter a note for your desired instrument. Then move up or down to another instrument that uses the same notehead and add a note there to the chord. Then disengage note entry and use Alt/Opt+arrow to reposition the note in the desired location.

That sounds a little complicated, but here’s what it looks like:

Once you’ve done one of these notes, you can copy or Alt/Opt+click it to other places in the score.

Thank you so much! This is perfect – and I feel rather silly for not thinking of this, but then again, all solutions are only obvious once someone in the know has showed us the way. I appreciate your response…problem solved!
