In parts, I really appreciate the automatic instrument change labels. I think one bit is missing though, which is that there’s no label that indicates which instrument the player starts with.
in a part, for example, Flute II & Piccolo, there’s no label telling which instrument plays the first notes in the part. After the first instrument change, everything is clear.
The first instrument played should be the one appearing as Instrument label on the left of the staff. You can make it appear, say, for the beginning of each flow, in Layout options (ctrl shift L), Staves and Systems category. It’s the first option of the page.
I agree this is a good idea and I’ve made a note of it for us to address in future.
