I’m trying to create a drum part but I’ve been having trouble learning how to do it. My question is how to create the drum parts in a single set without the Dorico replacing notes with a longer duration, such as the bass drum in two eighth notes connected when I insert the drum snare drum or any other part whose duration is different. Example: the bass drum lasts for a quarter note and at the same time two eighth notes are played on the snare drum. The photo shows what is happening. NOTE: I am only using the computer keyboard (Windows)

Edit your Percussion Kit to point the snare (hand-struck) stems up and the kick (foot-operated) stems down.

Thank you, this completely resolves my doubts about how Dorico behaves in relation to the figures in the drum part.
