For those on a Mac.
With trying to download a 30GB library I kept receiving an error on download assistant with not having sufficient hard drive space. Moving a lot of data onto my server did not increase the available space download assistant was seeing.
I soon realized that download assistant is looking at the field free space and not available space. Difference is free includes purgeable and availale does not include purgeable. (Can be seen in Disk Utility). Removing purgeable is tricky, typically done through terminal, my method was to copy a very large folder back onto my hard drive and delete using delete immediately.
