Download authorisation code not accepted

I bought cubase 15pro and wavelab 13 elements education editions for my daughter to teach her to use them.

I was sent codes for both by the retailer. Downloaded the steinberg downloads manager software, made an account.

Then pasted the codes (one at a time obviously) into the box.

The format of both codes is identical

xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

Both codes return a message stating that the code provided is not a download authorisation code, or an activation code.

Can anyone help please?

A download access code should look like this example:

12ABC-DEFG3-HI4JK-5L67M-8NO99

It might be that you get a special code from a reseller, a kind of “voucher” that has to be especially activated (not unusual with software license) or can be applied in the Steinberg shop at checkout, but tbh I don’t know, and I haven’t found anything in the Steinberg Help Center.

Maybe someone else here knows, or you could ask the retailer, usually they should provide some instructions on how to deal with their codes.

I called the retailer just before I read your response and it turns out they had sent me the wrong codes.

All fixed now.
