There is any expected date for fixing this?

Hi,
I’m not aware of any.
Btw, this workflow doesn’t make much sense. If you are in this window already, you can just select the audio files and click Import.
Yeah, I know, not gonna use it.
It’s a real issue.
Yeah this is exactly the same for me. I run Cubase 10.5 on windows 10 and normally always drag wav files from windows explorer into cubase and it automatically creates an audio track and sticks the audio right there where I dropped it. But I’m using jbridger and found I get annoying permissions warnings if I use bridged plugins so I wanted to run cubase as administrator to prevent them. This works, but as soon as I do that I am no longer able to drag and drop audio files into cubase. It just shows some greyed out cursor icon with an X, indicating that the operation is no longer possible. Clearly running Cubase with administrator privileges somehow disables drag and drop into it from windows explorer, which is quite frustrating.
That’s not Cubase’s fault. It’s windows security.
Workaround if you really need this functionality would be using a third party file explorer also running as admin. You should be able to drag n drop from there.
Better still…get with the modern age and dump your 32bit plugs
Cool, thanks for the insight! I shall look into the option of a third party explorer application since I don’t really have budget to replace these plugins with 64bit alternatives.
Hello, if you are on Windows - check Total Commander. It has a lot of useful tools for music producer like convenient search, multi rename tool, etc. It can be run as admin and resolve issues with Explorer.
Also, it has better copy options like ‘replace all smaller files’ or ‘skip duplicates’. Windows Explorer simply doesn’t suggest such options.
Thanks, yeah I’ve heard of Total Commander, so I really should give it a try. For now I have just been ignoring and dismissing the warnings as it seems they are only an annoyance, not a sign of anything being significantly wrong.
