Reading the manual I should be able to drag a groove agent pattern onto a midi track in cubase 11. When the drag approaches the track the cursor changes into the not allowed symbol.

Did you add track- instrument- groove agent.
Once it loads the track you should be able to drag and drop drum kit loops into this track. In Groove agent drum kit you have chosen at the bottom left of the page click the symbol next to Omni and it should go yellow and you are good to go.
I got a call from support. She had me delete the preferences folder for Groove Agent. After restarting Cubase, GA began to cooperate normally.
Where are the GA preferences kept? I’m having this issue with a song - quite odd as this behavior is not true for GA in general - just started happening in this one project.
