Drive D or E instead of C?

I am a new user and I would like to download and install cubase artist 13 and Absolut6. Is it possible to do this on drive D or E instead of C?

I’m interested in this answer also, thanks for posting!

There is a ‘download location’ setting in the Downloader. But these are only the temporary install files. The program files will always be installed in the ‘Programs’ folder on the system drive (Windows), but with the ‘Library Manager’ the library files can be relocated wherever you like.

Thank you. I hope it works. I have 176gb of free space on my C drive, the Artist 13 would still fit on it, but the Absolute 6 is already 136gb.

It’s not possible for Cubase and the plug-ins that come with it, which also have to be installed in a specific folder on the C: drive.

OTOH, the libraries/content that come with them can be moved to another drive with the Steinberg library Manager.

Thanks, I understand. But can the downloads be directed to the D drive and installed from there? Or is that only possible on the C drive?

You don’t need to install the additional content (loops, VSTis, samplers and so on) in C drive and them move it to where you want. It is possible to set up the Steinberg Library manager to install directly where you want right from the start.

Install only the software (without any additional content). Open library manager and choose where is the place for the content.

Now download and install all the content you want. Later you can check in the library manager if everything is going to the right place.

You can define a download location in the Download Assistant Settings. That can point to any drive and folder that is connected to your machine.

The Steinberg Download Assistant lets you set and change the location for the downloads. I set my default location to where I store all my downloads for program installs etc.

Then when I download the various Libraries I’ll change the download location to a disk dedicated to Sample Libraries. When done I set it back to my default location.

Cubase itself doesn’t consume much diskspace, but the content sure can.

Thank you everyone for the answers. We are trying to download and install the two programs today. I hope it works and I will let you know.
