Drop outs on export

When i use Spitfire audio Eric Whitacre choir in Dorico for a choir only piece of 2 sopranos 2 Altos 2 tenors and 2 basses it works ok with no drop outs . However when I export audio the 2 sopranos long notes at the start cut out of a few bars. I have a Fireface ucx usb and tried setting the buffer size to 2048, put a 2 second pre-roll in Dorico but drop outs still occur.

so you are on windows, is that right?

Would you please try one more audio export and after that do from the Dorico menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report. That creates a zip file on your desktop.

If you can’t attach that to a reply here, send it directly to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de.

Thanks for the diagnostics, unfortunately in the log files there is nothing particular to be found. No sign of overload or anything.

I’ve had people before with such issue, some could resolve by using a different ASIO driver during export, but to be honest, I don’t know how or why that would fix the issue.

But may I still ask you to download the free driver Release FlexASIO 1.10b · dechamps/FlexASIO · GitHub ? Then, before doing an audio export please go to Edit > Device Setup and in there choose FlexASIO as ASIO driver. Does that make any difference?

Thanks again for your help and i will try your recommended asio driver if all else fails. However I have opened a ticket with steinberg on this matter so maybe I should close the forum query
