dropouts/latency

Hi. I’m running cubase 10.5 elements on win10. If I have a project with 3 or 4 virtual instruments and try to record an audio track I’m getting a lot of dropouts & latency issues.

Can someone point me to how I should begin to address this issue?

Basic system rundown is as follows:
Win10 Home x64
I5-2500 CPU @ 3.3Ghz
16GB ram
SSD hard drive
Focusrite 2i2

Increase your buffer size if you haven’t already.

For a begin raise the soundcard buffers.

…also which Virtual Instruments? Some are hungrier than others.
