Dropouts when closing edit window

System:

Cubase 9.01 / RME Madi FX PCI / Mac Pro OSX 10.10.5

  • Open an edit window (not lower pane, a full-screen MIDI or Audio edit window
  • Press Play with ~40 tracks playing, running VEP, around 20% on the VST Performance meter
  • Close the edit window

Major glitch happens on my machine when I do this. Playback drops out for 0.5 to 1 sec and then sputters back. Graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB if that is helpful, running two monitors. I also usually have Windows Remote Desktop running.

Last night I noticed that even auto scroll was causing dropouts. I zoomed all the way out so that the arrange window didn’t need to scroll and the dropouts went away. I have heard some discussion about video issues, so hopefully this is already being addressed?
