Dropouts When Recording With External FX

I’m using wavelab Pro 12

I have my analogue output setup on DAD system to record with an External FX plugin. I use one E FX plugin to route in and out of the analogue, and a separate to capture at any point in the chain. I use this to print to a separate stereo track post plugins and analogue chain, prior to any clipping/limiting on my output buss.

I’m experience random dropouts, usually only a 100ms in length or less. This happens even without plugins and on the software side, as I’ll monitor prior and post E FX used for capture, the dropouts do not happen in normal playback, only recording, and will be included in the print. Any advice? Thanks!

Sorry if I worded this confusingly, feel free to ask any questions to clarify

How are you doing your clocking? Do you have an external work clock? Sounds like it might be a clocking issue with your setup. FWIW

It’s internally clocked on the DAD system with AX64. But I wouldn’t be surprised and will get my techs to look into it

Using the External FX plugin in the Master Section is more reliable than in the montage.
