Drum Machine - loading single pad sounds needs some love <3

I really enjoy the DM :heart: but the workflow is somewhat lacking :mag:

Three things :drum: :drum: :drum::

  1. There should be a “folder” icon on each pad to allow loading patches. Right now one has to right-click the pad & choose appropriate option from the drop down menu. It’s very tedious, especially in absence of 2) and 3);
  2. When browsing the patches, clicking one should already play the patch sound. At the very least, when pattern is playing the sound should be swapped temporarily to whatever is chosen in the browser, and swapped for good when double-clicked;
  3. When patch was chosen from the browser, the “<” and “>” icons should appear on it to allow for going through the current browser filter w/o the need to ever open it;

The drum engine naming is a little obscure. Maschine has the same situation and just gives them individual names. At least that’s easier to remember.

It’s going to be great to see the drum machine and pattern editor mature over time. I never guessed I’d be so impressed by a drum machine, having several excellent drum plugins. But it’s just the way it’s integrated in the DAW that makes it so direct and pleasant.

It actually makes for a very powerful metronome as well.

Agreed, it’s a great 1st attempt, just not perfect yet :slight_smile:

It would actually help if individual pad presets were in the browser panel on the right (like kits are), but I couldn’t find them :frowning:

Yes. Preview is a thing I hope they add. Also the pattern naming is a little funny. It numbers them but you can’t reorder them. You should, or skip the numbering and sort the drop down alphabetically and users can make their own order.
