Hi is there a way to TUNE samples in DRUM MACHINE (like Drum Rack Ableton) to a specific NOTE rather than pitch % ? I know my sample is in F#, so want to put it on other pads chromatically, how do I do that without having to “guess” the tuning in %?
Don’t know the answer to your question sorry but if using samples in your drum creation why not use groove agent ..easy to tune, easy to map the samples across the pads (keys).. It’s a great little sampler.
Hi yes am aware of Groove Agent can do this, but I like the simplicity of the Drum Machine and it’s been promoted as a “beat making” engine, and works great for most of that. So this way I can’t combine my tonal (bass etc) samples with drum samples in Drum Machine. Two workflows, one in Groove Agent, one in Drum Machine, just to get some basic beats going? I can handle it no prob, but it’s not smooth, is it. Seems so simple to add an option to tune by note.
Yes Pattern ok, but I pl;ay my stuff in real time via MIDI keyboard and/or pads. So need to assign notes chromatically to the 16 pads. Like Koala, Ableton, Akai MPC etc.
It’s a “simple” drum-pattern editor–not really a “live performance” tool.
Maybe I’m misunderstand what you’re after–but it sounds like you could do it all with just Groove Agent. Why bother with the Drum Machine if it’s not what you need, and the tool you want already exists?![]()
