Am I wrong, or the current set of beater pictogram doesn’t include a rod/broomstick beater?
If so, I would suggest to add it to the font.

The beaters pictograms encoded in SMuFL are based on the standardised set that arose out of the Ghent conference in the 1970s. So far as I know SMuFL isn’t missing any of the beaters that were agreed at that meeting and subsequently published. If you know of some sources for further percussion beater pictograms, please open an issue in the SMuFL project on GitHub with examples and citations, and we’ll certainly consider adding them in a future SMuFL revision.

I think that the “hot rod” was invented around year 2000. This would explain why it is missing from the Ghent set.
