I just got Dorico 6 and am having trouble making a drum roll.
I would be so greatful if someone can explain it to me; for. instance how to I get the thick slash-lines (Tremolo) between the notes on the drumline Thanks in advance for your help.

I can help you out. What questions do you have?
If your first question is âwhere is the tremolo located?â It is located under the repeat structures. (1st and 2nd endings).
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi. It does look like what youâre looking for is multinote tremolo. You can create that by selecting the two notes that are supposed to be played, shift-R, 32, enter.
Dear MarcLarcher:
I tried your method: two notes that are supposed to be played; however, I DID find another method. I wrote two quarter-notes (Crochets) and not only made a wavy line, it played a drum-roll. Thank you for your help.

Dear MarcLarcher. I left out a step.
I put four quarter notes (Snare Drum) in several bars. Then, I wrote âtrâ in long-hand, the one that is directly under âBaroque and Classicalâ This is in the column a little to the left over the Popovers. Thanks for your help. Still looking for help on putting slashes (tremolos) through notation.

Dear Robby_Poole: I did find a solution to the drum-roll question. I put four quarter-notes (or crochets), using the snare-drum sound. Then I typed âtrâ in long-hand over the crochets. This is the âtrâ under âBaroque and Classical in the column to the left just before the Popovers column. Thanks for your help.

Yes, this âtrâ stands for trill (rather than tremolo). If it gets you the playback you want itâs fine.
Iâm happy with the method I described in my last e-mail post: Iâm using the âtrâ that is under Baroque and Classical.
Thank you,
Respectfully yours,
Minna Mansky
Dear Minna,
What youâre using is trill, in the Ornaments panel (popover shift-O, tr)
It does work to use trills for unmeasured tremolo, although itâs old-fashioned IIRC.
As per Gould, p. 234
You maybe do not need to use multnote tremolo, if itâs only a drum roll. Using the Repeats panel (or popover shift-R, 3) should write a 32th tremolo on whatever note is selected.
Dear MarcLarcher,
Thanks for your help.
