Drum VST with brushes needed

Hi everybody. I’m looking for a drum vst that supports brushes and that works well in Dorico. Plug and play is the top priority (above sound, since the music will be played live eventually). Top two priority would be brush sweeps . And by the way. How do you notate them?

Any help is much appreciated

Try NotePerformer. It might have brushes(?)…

I normally just have a tied semibreve with “swirl” marked. Most drummers will get the drift. Some may notate with a tremolo too.

Ha!!! Didn’t think of noteperformer.

„Sweep“ is the word I was looking for. Don’t know if „swirl“ means something else…

No, I don’t think so but I think I would prefer “sweep” actually.

NP has no swirl I think. Here I have a file I once made for a swing groove. It is only HalionSonic SE and a selfmade drumkit with an tap snare, swirl snare, kick and hi-hat. I routed it to the mixer so you can make an nice mix of it.

I think it should work because it only uses Dorico packed sounds. Make shure the Yamaha XG Brush percussion map is loaded. That is the percussion map that I edited. I don’t know if that comes with the Dorico file. If not I can post it separatly.

The notation is not common but for brushes there is no generally accepted consensus as far as I know. To swirl or sweep that is the question.

So here we have to snares. One for the sweep/swirl and one for the taps. That are the common sounds you get when playing brushes.

That should be what I need. Thank you both very much. I’ll try it right tomorrow
