This is a crap mock up using chatgpt, I just wanted something visual to get my idea across. Make the ruler taller ( I would like to see that implemented) Theres no way in hell this would ever be the design either :joy: :joy:

Add a second ruler range allowing an independent Record Loop inside the existing Playback Loop. The Playback Loop provides musical context while the Record Loop defines the region used for cycle recording, punch-in/out, comping, and overdubs. This would improve recording workflows without affecting existing users by making the feature optional.

Have you worked with the existing punch points? It allows an independent record range within the playback loop range. You can use the range tool to define the record range within the play cycle range and go to transport menu - set punch points to selected range.
