Dual Rehearsal Marks

In one of the marching band shows that I have written, I am writing drill set numbers directly into the file using system text so that performers and directors can see this information in the parts and scores as we rehearse. Since drill sets are largely consecutive much like rehearsal marks, it would be useful to have a primary and secondary system of rehearsal marks. The primary marks would be for traditional rehearsal marks as we know them, and the secondary marks for “other stuff”. i.e. drill sets, stage direction, or anything else that might be consecutive.

System Text should work.

This is how it’s being handled presently. The point is, that the items I am describing are sequential

You’ve probably found that you can override the sequence type and index of an individual rehearsal mark via the Properties panel, so it’s possible to have a real rehearsal mark that appears out of sequence, but there’s no way to tell Dorico that the rehearsal mark you’re about to create should belong to one sequence or another.

thanks for the response!

I have, and I was hopeful that this might be a way to handle it…up until I got to a spot where the set number landed on a rehearsal letter, and the rehearsal mark took over. I have a solution for now, and it works (although it does tend to create some collisions in the score and parts). You guys have bigger fish to fry, for sure. But, if there was a way to have a concurrent secondary rehearsal mark system, I still feel that a lot of people who are doing the same thing I’m doing would find some value in it.

Thanks
