I just ordered 2 Xeon E5 2600 (8 cores 20mb cache each) with an Asus motherboard to build a new workstation for Cubase.
Anybody tried this cpu in a single or dual configuration?
I have to build a more powerfull unit because the Native Instruments Audio plugins need a lot of cpu ressources.
How do you manage to work with these plugs?
Thanks for your answers.
Some of those xeons have quite slow clock speeds. Cubase runs better with fewer faster cores. You’d be flying with most other DAWs but you may be lining yourself up for disappointment with Cubase. Just my humble opinion of course.
