Duduk instrument and Kontakt 8

Sorry, I post only when I encounter problems, wish I could propose more useful content.

I have read similar topics here, seen tutorials, but I could not manage to learn anything that can solve the issue.

I purchased a Duduki instrument VST from Impact Soundworks that works on Kontakt 8 (player). Installed it correctly, charged the player in Dorico as required.

Here comes the messy part, I need to flip from A to B settings and back to A to make Kontakt work. If I click on a note in the Kontakt window, I hear it. Also, I can click on the written note in the score and I can hear it also. It even plays when I move the note up and down (alt + arrows). But in the instance I click the play button, it goes silent both in Dorico and Kontakt and I need to restart the absurd flipping to “bring it back alive” ! Note that I can see the “piano touch pressed” in Kontakt while playing, but no sound come out, all the rest is dead.

I already wrote a mail to Impact Soundworks, they send me an installation video tutorial (already done), so I wrote back to ask refund and left a message here just in case if someone finds a way out of this situation.

I am unable to find out what I did wrong or did not grasp with the parameters of the VST, with the Kontakt player or in Dorico.

Given what you have reported, this seems the most appropriate area to examine first. Do the Kontakt documentation or help resources provide any information to troubleshoot that aspect of your setup?

Is this your first Kontakt instrument? (btw, I corrected the title to duduk, as it’s what’s this is called)

Thank you for answering. I will try Kontakt with another instrument and see if I have the same issue, and then will try to read the documentation.
Indeed, this is the first time I use Kontakt.

Duduk, I mistyped, yes this is the correct name, thank you for correction.

Test done with another instrument (Piano Uno), it works flawlessly.

Ok, so the problem might be with Kontakt… it’s not really plug and play as we users would want it. I wrote a tip about setting up the Kontakt outputs, as, they seem to have decided it’s a good idea (but WHY???) to hide those… not sure it’s the problem you’re having though. Please post screen captures if you can, it might be useful for other users to help you.

Now I am testing the Duduk again. If I use “Duduk Phrases” or “Duduk Phrases DFD” (the sample is a recorded short melodic ornament) the A note I wrote (duration 4 seconds) play that very phrase! But when I use the “Duduk” sample (one note) the problem begins as described.
Maybe I lack very basic technical knowledge, I still don’t understand.
