[Dupe BON-7776] Do Not Select Text On Double-Click (Focus)

This is one of those things that seems so trivial it never gets addressed but it’s ANNOYING as all hell.

In any text field, one clicks (or double clicks) to edit the field.

Eg. Clicking on a Track Name.

Unfortunately, this also -selects- the text so that hitting any key accidentally OVERWRITES the entire contents. This is -so- anti-usability it needs no embellishment.

[Mod edit: sentence removed - please, read the Terms of use]

There should at least be an option that activates text editing but does NOT select the text. My preference would be to place the text cursor at the -end- of the field since I most often will want to append text to the existing track name (or whatever is currently in the field.)

Hello,

this is a bug introduced in 8.0.5 [BON-7776], reported as solved in 8.0.10.

For the time being, you can use the arrow keys (or ‘home’ and ‘end’ ) to move the cursor and edit the text without replacing it entirely.

If you accidentally delete / overwrite, pressing [Esc] will de-select the text and bring it back to its original ‘value’.
