I use Halion instruments but the dynamics from pppp don’t apply. E.g. I can’t listen to quite in pp.
You’ll need to provide a bit more information for us to be able to help you effectively.
Are you loading your own sounds into HALion? Or are you using one of the default playback templates provided with Dorico?
If you’re loading your own sounds, be sure to also set an appropriate expression map in the Routing section of the Track Inspector panel in Play mode. If the patch you’ve loaded uses e.g. MIDI CC 1 for dynamics, you need to choose an expression map that is set up accordingly.
Thanks for your reply. Are you saying that you cannot hear any difference between e.g. ppp and pp, or something else?
yes on my example I have ppp<>mp. I’m listen to ppp like forte
You could try adjusting the Minimum dynamic level and Maximum dynamic level values on the Dynamics page of Library > Playback Options, e.g. to -3 and 3 respectively. This will compress the overall dynamic range.
It is allready set by default at -6 till +6
