Easiest way to typeset Dorico embellishments?

Hi Everyone,

This forum has been very helpful for my transition to Dorico. Thank you for all your help!!

I am trying to typeset, in the most efficient way possible, the two ornaments below (the repeated note and the tremolo). How can this be done without altering the music spacing ? [the tremolo on the right should be appoggiature]

Very much appreciated!
Brandon

I tried some things …

(deleted Dorico file, because a better version is in the next post)

A better version: this one does not rely on a zero-staffline-instrument:

two details.dorico (563.0 KB)

The four small notes without heads are written in an extra voice with a 4:1x compressing tuplet, then got their heads and ledger lines hidden. The staccato dots were flipped to the other side in *Engrave Mode, and then adjusted Y-wise. The slash was created by applying a fall off line from the Jazz articulations to the first note, and adjusted in Engrave Mode.

… and I guess, in this case I would help it a bit with horizontal space editing:

Thanks very much Meixner!
This is very helpful.

What would be your thoughts on simply adding grace notes in the same voice and moving them manually? Or would this complicate things/ be more difficult than your solution above?

Much appreciated!

You mean the four “hint” notes? I would keep them in a separate voice, so they are easier to handle. You can create as many voices as you like, so there is no need to be thrifty.

Great. Thanks meixner!
