Edit Duration: Halve Note Duration Command Bug

I just ran into a very bizarre bug using Dorico’s “WriteMenu>Edit Duration> Halve Note Duration” command. After further investigation, I can now clearly state what the problem is. When a note is tied over to a chord (see my example image, left-hand), Dorico gets confused.
I exported the example as an XML and imported it into Finale, where I ran Finale’s “Change Note Values to 50%“command. It worked flawlessly. So, it’s definitely a Dorico bug. In the example, you can clearly see that the note values in the lower staff are incorrect in Dorico’s conversion. I first suspected it might have something to do with having two voices, but the same problem occurs even when the down-stem voice is removed.
Does anybody know how to get around this problem?

Hi @Thomas_Gunther, as Finale eliminates the tie anyway, you could (in Dorico) untie the tied notes, and then activate Insert Mode: the Half Note Duration command will work as expected (you need then to re-tie the notes):

Another method (without eliminating the tie) would be to assign temporarily the tied notes to a new voice (with Shift+V), then, also with Insert Mode activated, apply the Half Note Duration command, then change the voice of the tied notes to its original voice using V:

Both workarounds are effective! I hadn’t noticed that Finale removes the tie. This indicates that both programs have issues with notes partially tied to a chord. Interesting.
