My name is Johan vanden W. I am getting on in years but would like to keep up with modern technology.
I do have a question right away. I chose Cubase Elements 15 for the following reason: I play Yamaha keyboards using MIDI files and also create MIDI files myself. I would like to generate sheet music from specific tracks within these MIDI files. I also want the song’s chords displayed as letters above the musical staff I have selected. How do I do this in Cubase Elements 15? Perhaps I chose the wrong program. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Johan.

This is depending on what is more important, midi or print sheet music.
If your focus is on printing you could have a look on Dorico, download the trail version.
Don’t know if the printing part in Cubase is suitable for you.

MIDI files are typically optimized for playback and, without post-processing, do not produce a legible score—a bit like unformatted text.
Since the old score editor in Cubase was replaced starting with version 14 and is now based on Dorico, this task should also be possible in Cubase.
I use Dorico for notation, so unfortunately I can’t say what limitations the Elements version has compared to the Cubase Pro version in terms of notation.
