I’m trying to create a “sim.” region for some parts in which the notes at that point are supposed to be played staccatissimo. I shortened the durations of the notes in the region in the Key Editor with Played Durations highlighted, but although both the score and the track in the Editor look right, the durations haven’t changed in playback. Is there a better way to accomplish what I’m going for? They’re trumpet parts and I’m using Iconica Sketch.
Have you thought about using a Playing Technique? There is actually an existing one for staccatissimo, I think?
You can lengthen it so that it covers any number of bars, you can also change how it is displayed, you also don’t have to change any durations.
Select a note, or range of notes, and open the Playing Techniques popover (Shift+P), start typing staccatissimo. You won’t need to type too much for it to display and select.
Hi Daniel, thanks. That’s what I had thought, but I’m not seeing it. It seems like Legato and Marcato are in there, but no Staccato or variations of it.
There’s one in mine but perhaps I created it. Do you know how to do this?
